PNE Prize Home History

Did you know…?

  • The first PNE prize home was given away in 1934 and was valued at $5,000.
  • The first PNE prize home giveaway was created to bolster a less than prosperous house-building industry during the Great Depression.
  • Tickets to the first PNE Prize home were sold for 10 cents each…which covered all costs and even generated a little profit.
  • There was no prize home at the PNE in 1973. They raffled a gold brick that year – which was not as successful – and so it’s been a prize home every year since.
