Duradek Takes Fellow GVHBA Member’s Challenge – And Passes It Forward!

Today, June 22nd, 2017, Duradek accepted a Greater Vancouver Home Builders Association (GVHBA) fellow member’s challenge to support a good cause by hosting a delicious lunch provided by Nightshift’s ‘Taste of Heaven’ food truck.

The Challenge to Fellow GVHBA Members

Nearing the end of May, GVHBA member, Miracon Developments hosted lunch through NightShift’s ‘Taste of Heaven’. They extended the challenge to other GVHBA members to do the same. Having strong values placed on community, Duradek was more than ready to participate in the challenge! One might say we were hungry for it (perhaps slightly influenced by Taste of Heaven’s delicious gourmet lunch).

Challenge Accepted!

Duradek, a family owned and operated business, regards their whole team as their Duradek family and wholeheartedly accepted Miracon’s challenge by inviting their extended family of dealers over to join them together for lunch. Duradek is proud to be part of an association like the GVHBA that rallies its members together to create outstanding support for our communities with events like their annual Grouse Grind Challenge, and programs like Coats for Kids.

There was a fast moving but continuous line at the Taste of Heaven Food Truck at Duradek Headquarters in Surrey, BC.

“According to Larry, of Clay Construction, GVHBA members build and supply products to 2/3 of all the housing that is built in the lower mainland. It is proudly the second largest home builders’ association in North America and contends to be the most active. Duradek is proud to be a member of this organization and supports many of the events through sponsorship and participation.” says Winston Conyers, Duradek’s Regional Sales Manager.

Winston recently attended a ‘Builder Breakfast’ put on by GVHBA at Nightshift Street Ministries. “I was pleasantly surprised to find that several big-name builders, such as Tavan Developments, Clay Construction, and Park Lane Homes donate not just money, but the owners donate their personal time to help. Very happy to be associated with these kind people.”

Taste of Heaven, the non-profit social enterprise from Surrey based NightShift Street Ministries not only serves nightly meals to people stuck in tough situations, but also feeds love, hope, and purpose into the community. Every meal purchased from Taste of Heaven supports Nightshift’s outreach programs.

Duradek is proud to bring together our family of dealers in support of these care services and we pass along Miracon’s challenge to other GVHBA members.

See other ways Duradek is giving back to our community with our ‘Donate a Deck’ program accepting applications until August 15th, 2017.
